Suspect in home invasion shot multiple times

UPDATE: The suspect in the home invasion was found at the Suburban Lodge in Stuart shortly after 11 a.m.

Martin County Sheriff's Office had surrounded the area once they got word the suspect, identified as Christopher Reber, was inside. Reber was found inside the hotel, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds that he received during the home invasion.

He was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center. There is no word on his condition at this time.


PALM CITY, FL--A person has been shot in an apparent home invasion this morning.

That victim, who is believed to be the home owner, was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center as a trauma alert with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Martin County Sheriff's Office is on scene of the 1500 block of Southwest Crossings Circle where the incident took place some time after 9 a.m. They are searching the area for suspects.
