WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- A group of teens is fighting West Palm Beach's curfew claiming it is unconstitutional.

Members of the National Youth Rights Association of Southeast Florida filed a lawsuit against the city on Tuesday. The group is comprised of members who on average are sixteen years old.

The group claims the curfew allows teens to stay out late if they are expressing their First Amendment rights. The teens argue that gathering and talking at any time would then be protected by the First Amendment.

The city says the curfew has lowered crime. The teens say enforcing a discriminatory rule is not the way to keep crime in check.
