If you dont want city water in the acreage make sure you go to this meeting!!!!!!!! Sept. 2nd at Seminole Ridge High School, 6:30-9. I know I dont want city water, nor do I want the huge bill that will be attached to it. I shouldn't have to pay for something due to some scared people wanting to put the blame of their cancer on the water with out having any proof!

I have been looking at homes in the Acreage to purchase. I am now concerned about buying there. What are the boundaries of those that have been affected? My prayers go out to all the families and I hope someone will get to the bottome of this.

In the United States, approximately .017% of the population is diagnosed with a malignant or benign brain tumor each year. For the population of the acreage which is about 50,000, you would expect to see about 9 cases per year diagnosed. About 45 every 5 years, etc. Of all of these cases that the press has identified, no one has said how recent these diagnoses are. The only thing that would be alarming (different from everywhere else) would be if they were all within the last 12 months and if all were the exact same kind of brain tumor.

Let it be known that in 1996 my son and I went canoeing in a cannel located in Loxahatchee off “E” Road. As we were pulling the canoe up the bank very small amounts of watery mud flipped up onto our lower legs from our flip flops. Within just a few days our skin was being eaten away located in all of the spots where the mud had touched our skin. We of course went to the doctor explaining what had happened and he stated that he had never seen anything like it and placing us both of us on med’s. I would like media to know that I did contact the Water Management Dept via phone explaining in detail what happen, in addition to the fact that someone needed to come out and test the water. They stated for me to contact the Health Dept. I did so conveying the same information and they told me to contact Water Management. Needless to say I never got anywhere; everyone was passing on the reasonability. Feel free to contact me if I can be of any help to these families.

I have been doing some research and there is a lot of evidence pointing to the pesticides used in the orange groves. The water could have come up clean b/c they haven't used the groves in two years. There is also warnings against chlordane used to treat the foundations of new homes prior to buildings and used for termite infestations. This could be a commonality amoung the victims. Are they all in new homes where this chemical was used? Just some thoughts!

Are these people drinking the well water? Are they using the well water to cook with? OR are they using bottled water?
