BOCA RATON, FL-- Two sea turtles will be taken 10 miles offshore of Lake Park and released on Saturday.

The turtles have been raised at Florida Atlantic University's Gumbo Limbo laboratory over the past several months.

Scientists at FAU say this pair sea turtles will be the first to carry new solar-powered miniature satellite tags.

The tags will allow FAU researchers to study the migratory movements of small, very young turtles.

The tagging system developed by scientists at FAU, the University of Miami and Duke University will allow the mammals to be tracked without interfering with their swimming or growth.
