Plea deal off the table for Dunbar rape suspect

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, -- In 2007 a single mother living in Dunbar Village was raped and assaulted.

Her son who was in the apartment was also brutalized.

One of the teens who was arrested in connection with the incident, Jakaris Taylor agreed to a plea deal in exchange for testimony against the other defendants.
Taylor appeared in Palm Beach County Circuit Court this morning before Judge Krista Marx.

The judge approved a motion by the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office to end the plea agreement and set a trial date for Taylor.

The State Attorneys' Office says that Taylor refused to answer questions posed by attorneys representing the other defendants.

Jakaris Taylor was to have served 20 years in prison as part of the plea deal.
He will now go to trial in May on rape and assault charges.
Avoin Lawson, Nathan Walker and Tommy Poindexter also be tried inconnection with the Dunbar Village rape.
