BOYNTON BEACH, FL --It's mission is huge. A mission to help American Military veterans with food, shelter and job placement. Now a local charity needs help of its own to dig out of mounting debt.
From the outside it looks any other ordinary house on the the block. Yet it is so different. Luscious landscape can't hide the truth living inside these walls.
"Going from the woods one month to shelter like this," says Thomas Kane.
Veterans who live in the five bedroom home wouldn't miss the chance to look into your eyes and tell you this place saved their life.
"We've had guys come in from the street that have nowhere to go nothing to do think their lives are worth nothing," says Tony Schebell.
It's called Vetsville Cease Fire House. A charity where soldiers who have served put their mind at ease knowing they have a roof over their head.
"It's really sad, I've been doing this for 17 years, I've had several shelters through Palm Beach County and this is the one I always wanted to keep," says Chris Noel.
Noel who had a career on the big screen in Hollywood opened the home in 1993 and may be forced to close it if the bills keep piling up.
"I just can only do so much."
$5,000 alone on paper on the kitchen table must get paid immediately. The well is running dry and worst of all time is running out.
"The opportunity to start over all the help all the programs they provide here to get your life back together again," says Kane.
Each story highlights even more the problem the wrecked economy spilled out onto America making the burden to heavy. It is a sacrifice one woman made years ago to help men who have sacrificed so much now is in jeopardy of falling off this block.
Chris Noel needs to come up with $25,000 or the home will lock its doors for good. If you think you can help contact Chris Noel at 480-332-7554.
