WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- A town hall-style meeting will be held Wednesday night to discuss the Palm Beach County School District's plan to departmentalize classrooms.

The change means schools will ditch the traditional elementary school model of a homeroom teacher.

Instead, students would stay with the same class most of the day.

Students in third-through-fifth grades would go to a different teacher for reading, math, and other subjects.

The program will be required for all elementary schools beginning in August.

Wednesday's meeting gets underway at 6:00 at Addison Mizner Elementary School in Boca Raton.
