DELRAY BEACH, FL -- William and Nicholas Burckhard have been bombarded with phone calls since they rescued a 69 year old woman from a sexual assault on Friday.

“Disgusted.  It’s just wrong.  In the middle of the day, plain sight, broad daylight?  You don’t do those kinds of things,” William said.

Police say Jonathan Brown, followed the woman into the breezeway of a Delray Beach plaza, grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

“I came across this man assaulting this woman in the breezeway and I asked what was going on and she said help me,” he said.

He pulled Brown off of the woman.  Brown tried to walk away but William wasn’t about to let that happen.

“Then he attacked me.  Him and I fought and I got him down then Nick came around the corner after I yelled for him,” said William.

“My dad had the guy on the bottom and I just jumped on top so he couldn’t get away because he was wrestling trying to get out.  When both of us were on top of him he was still trying to wrestle to get away so I punched him in the head a couple of times and that’s when he finally stopped,” Nicholas said.

The pair held Brown on the ground and waited for police to arrive.

Brown is a 15 time convicted felon who was released from jail in 2006.

“What’s he doing on the street?  That’d be my first thought.  What in the world is he doing on the street?” said William.

In the end, father is proud of his 19 year old son, who he says is the true hero.

“It’s just the right thing to help somebody out if they’re in trouble that’s all,” Nicholas said.

Brown is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
