There is a certain kind of "freedom' to the way he is living. Very low maintenance.

That is nothing! Check out the closet that I lived in for 2 years in San Francisco! And my very patient girlfriend stayed there with me 1/2 the time no less! You can see the stairs to the apartment above in the picture, which is posted here: http://www.eastcoastanimals.com/2006/12/closet-dwelling-at-its-finest.html Now that is living on a shoestring! I loved it.

"it's a cleaning cupboard." "it's not a cleaning cupboard. it's an apartment. it's my studio apartment." "you can't have a party in here man." "yeah i can, i'll just put some lights up and have some music..."

Sergio Thomas is in reality 8 feet 4 inches tall. His elder brother is an only child. And they and their two wives and five children all live in this little closet, with room to spare. Their favorite movie is The Diary of Anne Frank, Part II, as science fiction classic set in Alaska, 1856.

Good for him! Enduring short-term discomfort in order to achieve future aspirations is admirable. This is the antithesis of the subprime mortgage era, when people took unreasonable risks in order to obtain big lifestyle immediately.

Many years ago while vacationing in San Francisco,I couldn't sleep because of my wife's snoring. I settled myself on the floor of the large closet in the hotel room and closed the door;l I slept like a rock. When my wife awakened, she found me in the closet. "I'm so sorry!" she said. I said "You know, over the years there probably have been lots of men who came to San Francisco and "came out of the closet"...I bet I'm one of very few who went INTO the closet!" Things like this could be an alternative to living on the streets for some poor people, but the government often makes such living arrangements illegal. I recall a company in San Diego renting out warehouse storage closets with a bed, table, and not much more. Poor people were living there, until the government shut him down. Many tenants became homeless.

Are we all supposed to strive to live like this? I guess under the Obama administration this is what we get! This man is not impressive. This used to be America where we could dream big and work hard to get there! Now we get the government in every part of our lives and the media feeds us ridiculous stories like this to do what........... distract us from what is really going on or maybe to give us ideas about our future if we don't stop this disaster in Washington!
