Pirate ship spotted off of Boca Raton is part of Viva Florida 500

Are there scallywags off our coast?

YouReporter , Will Cooke, spotted this pirate ship about 2 miles off of Boca Raton. But there's no need for concern. NewsChannel 5 discovered that this is a 170-foot replica of Ponce De Leon's El Galeon.

The floating museum is temporarily docked at the Bahia Mar Marina in Fort Lauderdale until Sunday, May 19. The ship's visit is part of "Viva Florida 500 Voyage", and will be open for tours. "Viva Florida 500" is to mark the 500th anniversary of Juan Ponce de Leon's arrival on Florida's east coast.
