SHARON SPRINGS, Kan. - An Obama administration policy is the target of a new viral video.
Some hungry high school students performed a parody of Fun's "We Are Young" song, appropriately called "We Are Hungry."
The song pokes fun at new school lunch regulations, which sprouted from First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign against childhood obesity.
The new regulations are aimed at improving the quality of school lunches, by cutting calories, making milk or fruit smoothies mandatory, and replacing junk food with fruits and vegetables.
The new regulations went into effect for this school year in August. They limit high school lunch calories between 750 and 850 calories. It's 600 to 700 calories for middle schoolers, and 550 to 650 at the elementary level.
Students from Wallace County High School in Sharon Springs, Kansas, made the parody video, which can be found at youtube.com/watch?v=2IB7NDUSBOo , and they make it clear that they are not regularly filled on that amount of calories.
