A 40-year-old woman in the U.K. who has been deaf since birth can now hear for the first time.
Jo Milne was born with Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that can cause hearing loss and vision problems.
She was fitted with cochlear implants in February, according to BBC News, and had to wait more than a month for them to be switched on.
According to Gawker , her friend Tremayne Crossley also helped her experience music for the first time and created an "introduction to music" playlist for her. The first song she heard was John Lennon's "Imagine."
