(KABC, CNN NEWSOURCE) A California waiter is out of a job after a restaurant customer in California said he asked for proof of residency.

She said it happened as soon as she sat down.

"I had my ID out and I handed it to him without saying anything. I was shocked, I didn't know what to say, I couldn't believe he actually asked me for my proof of residency instead of valid proof of ID or date of birth," said customer Diana Carrillo.

The incident happened in Saint Marc Pub-Cafe in Huntington Beach last weekend.

Carrillo, whose parents are immigrants, posted the story on Facebook.

The restaurant later said the waiter was fired and his behavior does not represent the management.

The eatery also promised to donate 10% of this weekend's profit to an immigrant charity that Carrillo chose.
