DETROIT (WXYZ) - Stubborn squatters who have reportedly disrupted a quiet Detroit neighborhood aren't making things any easier on themselves. They have finally been evicted, but they didn't leave quietly.
When 7 Action News reporter Ronnie Dahl confronted the squatters, one woman threw soda, then barbecue sauce at her.
Ronnie first got on the story after neighbors complained about the squatters. That's when she discovered the people living in the home had a fake lease.
Neighbors say they've been frustrated ever since the squatters moved in. They say the squatters have turned their neighborhood upside down.
Eventually Chase Bank, which owns the house, started the eviction process.
It has taken six months, countless emails and relentless phone calls, but the squatters have finally been forced out.
The squatters kept circling the block in their car Tuesday afternoon and continued to throw things at Ronnie Dahl and our live truck.
Late Tuesday afternoon, a bailiff arrived to remove the items out of the home.
