SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - People all over the world are hoping they can adopt a pair of dogs that were found wandering the streets together almost two weeks ago in Georgia.
Savannah-Chatam Metropolitan Police Animal Control found the dogs, Joanie and Chachi, roaming the streets together and they are inseparable.
Chachi, a long-hair Chihuahua mix, was suffering from an eye infection that resulted in it being removed and Joanie, a white, lab-pit bull mix, was walking around with Chachi in her mouth and occasionally stopping to lick her infected eye, according to WJCL News .
The two were taken to a veterinarian to be treated and have become the best of friends. Animal Control would like the pair adopted together, if possible.
They have received adoption applications from numerous states and even the United Kingdom, but they are looking to adopt locally so they can verify where the animals are going.
