Stranded killer whale rescued in southern China

A young killer whale is back in the ocean after being stranded offshore in southern China.

The killer whale was spotted on a beach on Saturday, as Super-Typhoon Rammasun swept through the country's south.

The typhoon, the strongest to hit southern China in four decades, beached the 10-foot-long killer whale.

Lifeguards and Frontier Defense Police Officers tried to carry the young whale back into deep water, but high winds and strong waves kept pushing the whale back onto the shore.

After almost three hours, the killer whale was back safe and sound in the South China Sea.
