Priest, photographers wedding controversy: Priest vows to stop Rob and Noelle Ruehle's wedding

Warns photographers to back off

It was the beginning to a beautiful wedding.

Rob and Noelle Ruehle were in the middle of their vows when suddenly...

"Sir, would you please leave?" the officiating priest said to photographers. "Where do you want me to be?" one asked. "Anywhere other than here," the reverend responded.

But it didn't end there.

"This is a solemn assembly not a photography session. Please move or I will stop," the priest again said. "You want me to leave?" the photographer said. "I will stop the ceremony if you do not get out of the way," was the response.

The expressions on the couple's faces said it all.

"I really wasn't upset. I was just really more appalled and kind of shocked," Noelle said.

Rob added, "I think my biggest fear was that we'd have to step in and say something."

The photographers moved and the ceremony continued... but talk about an awkward moment.

"We had a lot of reactions afterwards and it kind of made for laughter but it kind of was the damper on the day also," Noelle said.

"I think the priest tried to justify the situation and apologize as best that he could; but, I think that at that point the damage was already done," Rob said.

Noelle's brother posted the awkward moment online -- the newlyweds left on their honeymoon and woke up internet sensations -- garnering over 250,000 views.

Video for mobile users:

"If nothing else we can look back and say hey we had a one of a kind wedding, even though it may not be the way we thought it would go," Rob said.

At least they can laugh about it now.

Rob said, "The first thing everyone said, 'Hey how about that priest, he was great huh?'...It just turned out to make a really funny video which we hope everyone enjoys just as much as we do."

It's certainly a moment Rob and Noelle will never forget.

CNN reached out to the priest and church for a statement regarding the video, but did not get a response.
