Sloth slowly slinks into WPTV studio

A Hoffman's two-toed sloth named Wilbur visited the NewsChannel 5 studio on Saturday with the Palm Beach Zoo.

Wilbur is a female who loves to be around people, which makes her a great candidate to visit classrooms and programs with the zoo, explained Elizabeth Anderson, Associate Curator at the zoo.

Sloths only come out of tree canopies about once a week.  Sloths sleep 18 to 22 hours a day and they are very slow-moving.  They have a slow body temperature and a slow metabolism.

Save the FL Panther Day is happening Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palm Beach Zoo. For more details about the event and more, visit
