(KNTV, NBC NEWSCHANNEL) San Francisco's Bay area is buzzing over a $15 a cup of coffee.

While it smells, grinds and drips like you're typical cup of joe, it’s anything but.

It's called Finca Sophia and people can't get enough of it.

"It's almost like your top-shelf whiskey or a $40 bottle of wine compared to your $8 bottle,” said coffee educator Akaash Saini.

The beans, which are from the Gesha variety, come from the mountains of Panama.

"It was amazing. Very amazing. Very demanding, very busy,” said Equator Coffees & Teas Myron Tate.

The first crop, which took 8-years to produce, was small which is why the java is such a jolt to your wallet.
