Researchers say smelling farts could prevent cancer, other diseases

PHOENIX - It’s a real study, honest!

Scientists at the University of Exeter say that smelling farts could actually prevent cancer, along with other disease.

Time Magazine reports that while the smelly gas can be “noxious in large doses,” the researchers say that an occasional whiff of flatulence could reduce the risks of cancer, stroke, heart attacks, arthritis and dementia by preserving mitochondria.

Reportedly researchers are even coming up with their own compound to reproduce the odiferous expulsion’s health benefits.

So next time you’re stuck in an elevator or an airplane with a noxious odor, you may want to be thankful – it could just save your life.
