Palm Beach County Fire Rescue called in to save a dozen ducklings from Lake Worth storm drain

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Palm Beach County Fire Rescue made one quack of a save in Lake Worth.

Captain Albert Borroto says Valencia Shores resident Denise Klass was out for a walk on the morning of May 16 when she was drawn over to a gutter storm drain by a frantic-looking mother duck.

Klass looked into the drain and discovered a dozen baby ducklings swimming in the water below.

She called Palm Beach County Fire Rescue for assistance, and firefighters from Station 46 responded.

With the mother duck supervising, rescuers were able to remove the ducklings safely from the drain.   The family was reunited, and happily swam off into a nearby lake.
