LAWTON, Okla. - A man dropped a $20 bill down a storm drain, but as he went to retrieve it, he lost his way.
The man followed his money into a city's underground sewer system.
Two days later, a group of high school students heard screams coming from a manhole.
The man had become lost he was fifteen feet below street level in a dark and wet pipe when he was rescued.
Alicia Redding, Lawton Police Officer-in-Training, explained the man was in bad shape and had a bump on his head.
"He did not remember what day it was. He wasn't sure how long he had been down there. He was pretty dehydrated and not really sure the time the date," she said.
Officials say a map is needed to navigate the sewer's system of pipes.
Despite the complications, the man never retrieved his $20 bill.
