School leaders said his haircut was too distracting so a counselor cut it
A counselor at Harns Marsh Middle School shaved Danny Valdes's head after he showed up to class with an unusual haircut.
(WBBH) A Florida student spent Wednesday in in-school suspension all because of his haircut.
Danny Valdes's stepdad, Arnaldo Fernandez, owns Cutting Edge Barbershop and carefully cut the Miami Heat logo, area code and skyline into Danny's hair before Sunday's game.
Valdes was going to his first Miami Heat game.
"I wanted to get my hair like that to show how proud I am of my (Miami) Heat," Danny said.
School leaders at Harns Marsh Middle School in Lehigh Acres said his haircut was too distracting, but it's what a school counselor did next that is stirring up controversy.
The counselor picked up a pair of clippers and shaved Valdes's head.
Fernandez say he never gave the school permission.
