Cat 911 call: Vicious pet cat traps Portland, Oregon, family

PORTLAND, Ore. - A family in Oregon barricaded themselves in a bedroom of their house after they said their cat started terrorizing them.

The owners of a 22-pound Himalayan named "Lux" said the cat attacked their 8-month-old baby and then attacked their dog.

When they locked themselves into a bedroom, they said the cat wouldn't let them out.

From inside their bedroom, they made the following 911 call.

CALLER: “He’s charging us. He's at our door, our bedroom door.”

DISPATCHER: “One moment, OK?”

CALLER: “Do you hear him? That was the cat.”

DISPATCHER: “Yeah, I hear him. Keep the door shut, OK?”

“He started hissing and just yowling. Not like a meow, but yowls, he was really like crazy,” said the cat’s owner Teresa Barker.

The baby was not hurt.  Police were able to capture “Lux” with a dog snare after he scaled the family's refrigerator.

The man who called 911 told the dispatcher that the kitty started acting violent after he kicked the cat in the rear when it swiped at the baby.
