Car into pool video: Surveillance video captures car being pushed into a Fort Lauderdale pool

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - When you hear the term car pool, a car in a pool is usually not the first thing that comes to mind.

But a car did end up in a pool recently in Fort Lauderdale.

Newly released surveillance video captured the moment when a driver lost control, struck a parked car, and pushed that vehicle into a motel pool.

The car was driving the wrong way down A1A when it hit the parked car.

"She hit something, I don't know what she did, but she flew into that car," motel owner Bill Mac said.

The car that took the plunge belongs to guest Sarah Alstrom. "I would have been dead. I had my black slippers in the driver seat and I had just finished with my tea and I was gonna come down these steps," Alstrom told wsvn.com

Luckily, no one was outside when the accident happened.

The motel had to drain the pool to remove debris.

The driver who hit Alstrom's car was taken to the hospital. Her injuries were not disclosed.

She has not yet been identified.
