HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Florida - A bull was found struggling in a small pond near Tampa, in Hillsborough County.
A sheriff's deputy leapt into the water to help, as he and another officer arrived first on the scene.
The Tampa Tribune reports Deputy Christina Ammons held bull's head above water for 45 minutes.
Another deputy kept watch for alligators, armed with a rifle.
A rescue crew arrived to help.
It took a couple of attempts, but with a rescue team's help, the bull was saved.
The 20-year-old animal was able to walk again without injury.
