A driver attempting a land speed record nearly lost his life after a horrifying crash in California, the Today Show reported.
Brian Gillespie of the Hasport Hondata race team was nearing 200 mph when his car spins and began flipping.
It tumbled about twenty times.
The Today Show said the car remained intact and that probably saved Gillespie's life.
He's out of the hospital and recovering, the Today Show said.
