(KSTU/CNN) - One 7-year-old boy in Utah went to great lengths to try to trick his parents into more video game time.

The boy, Nathan Anderson, wrote a letter that was supposedly from the school, telling his parents to let him stay up all night to play video games.

The letter goes on to say if they don't let him do this, he will get kicked out of school.

It was written with lots of exclamation points and in pencil.

"Immediately I recognized Nathan's handwriting, but I almost couldn't stop myself from laughing," said mom Lori Anderson.

Lori was so amused that she posted his effort to social media where it has received millions of views.

"I was baffled. I had no idea where (the letter) came from," said Lori.

The note indicated that games on his Wii, iPad and computer were all fine to play.
