(WHDH) A professional dancer whose leg was partially amputated as a result of the Boston Marathon bombing danced on Wednesday for the first time since the incident.
Dancing again was always the goal for Adrianne Haslet-Davis. Wednesday she wowed a crowd in Vancouver when she took center stage dancing a rumba, evening taking a dip.
"I was always determined to dance again, and I knew that I had to, that I would, and here I am," Haslet-Davis said.
Haslet-Davis lost the bottom half of her left leg in the blast.
She danced publicly at an international TED conference with the help of a prosthetic leg designed by Hugh Herr at the MIT Media Lab.
Whdh.com reports that after her performance, Haslet-Davis wiped away tears as she told the crowd she wanted to thank everyone in Boston for their support.
