MADISON CO., MO-- A Missouri mother is facing multiple charges after authorities say she and her 17-month-old son overdosed on drugs.
25-year-old Billie Jean Cottle was reportedly found in the bathroom of a home in Granite City on Monday with the child in her arms.
Officials say they were both unresponsive.
A toxicology report says the child had methamphetamine and fentanyl in his system.
Cottle's neighbors say they're in shock. "I would wonder why she would do that. It`s one thing if that's your lifestyle, fine. But I wouldn't bring your child into it," said neighbor Natasha Wright.
Cottle is facing four counts of aggravated battery to a child, aggravated battery, reckless conduct and endangering the life of a child.
