Top 5 vacations for 500 dollars per person

Keeping a vacation within your budget can be difficult, but we're here to help.

With West Palm Beach travel agent Mary Hurley-Lane's 40-years of experience, I've created a list of the top 5 vacations for $500 per person.
"There are things out there, you just have to know where to look," she said.

Number one: Bahamas cruise

"Anytime you have to get on a plane, your cost kind of, your budget goes out the window," said Hurley-Lane.
So travel by ship to Freeport, Bahamas with a Celebration Cruise out of the Port of Palm Beach. Two nights at sea, one day in the Bahamas that Hurley-Lane calls it a great buy for the whole family

Number Two: Greyfield Inn:

The trip is under 5 hours from West Palm Beach.  The inn on Cumberland Island, Georgia is known for its wild horses. It's a must for those who enjoy a beautiful setting with a little bit of wildlife.

Number Three: Amelia Island:

This is a steal if you book this trip between May and November. The in-season prices for this island in north Florida are much higher than off season. Beautiful beaches and a relaxing setting is the highlight of this trip for $500 or less per person.

Number Four: St. Augustine:

"Great history to go along with B and Bs," said Hurley-Lane.

The oldest city in America can be a great affordable family trip.  It's about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from West Palm Beach.  The city's 3 centuries of history are on display, and Hurley-Lane says plenty of affordable hotels make St. Augustine a must-visit.

Number Five: Tween Waters Inn:

The resort on Captiva Island captures the old Florida charm.  It has one of the best places to watch the sunset in Florida.  This is also one to book in the off season to stay within your budget.

These are 5 vacation destinations that won't break your budget while enjoying a little R and R.
