WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -   1. Delray Beach's two day Independence extravaganza

      Celebrations span two days on Atlantic Avenue starting July 3 rd with Red, White and Blues on the Ave.

    This festival features three stages of classic blues music, and an art gallery.

    Then on the 4th, there's sand sculpting on the beach, a beautiful baby bathing suit contest for children 3 years and younger and an eating contest.

    Everything wraps up at 9 p.m. on the 4th with a beach-side fireworks show.

  2. 4th on Flagler in West Palm Beach

    This is the 25th anniversary of the city's Independence Day celebration.

     You'll see the traditional fireworks display but new this year is a ticketed 21 and up party at the Lake Pavilion.

    There's also plenty of fun for kids.

  3. Horseback riding on the beach

     For $40 an hour, Beach Tours on Hutchinson Island gives beachfront horseback rides to beginners and advanced riders.

   There's also wooded trail rides available for three nature preserves in St. Lucie County.

  4. Baseball games

      All three area minor league teams for the Marlins, Cardinals and Mets are playing home games Fourth of July weekend.

    The Marlins and Cardinals teams actually play each other Sunday.

   Catch the St. Lucie Mets at Tradition Field all weekend as well.

  5. Jupiter Lighthouse "Hike Through History"

   Take a hike through the 120 acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse nature area, next to one of the area's most recognizable landmarks.

  It's a 2 mile hike open to adults and children.

  Bring your hiking footwear and plenty of water.
