(WKYC) Think you know how to wash your hands? Chances are you're not doing it right.
James Arbogast is a microbiologist with GOJO, the company that makes Purell hand sanitizers and dozens of other soap products.
He oversees a hand washing lab where they study what works and what doesn't.
"The biggest mistake most people make is doing it too fast. Some people here call that the 'splash and dash'" Arbogast says.
The key is time... a minimum of 15 seconds washing.
There is also a proper way to use hand sanitizer.
