Beard transplants increasing in popularity

What if you're a guy who has always wanted facial hair but can't manage more than a few whiskers?

A couple of years ago, most plastic surgeons like dr. Jamil Asaria only performed the odd facial hair transplant to cover a burn or a scar.

Not anymore.

"It's grown from something I would do 2-3 procedures a year to something that we're now doing on a weekly basis," Asaria says.

One of his latest patients, Rudy Ionides has tried to grow a beard for years but it was always incomplete.

So, after a 12-hour operation, a week of swelling and redness, another week before he could shave,  he now has a full beard.

Depending on how many follicles you need, it can cost anywhere between $5,000 - $15,000.
