Fifth vicitim identified in accident in Riviera Beach on Blue Heron Boulevard

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - UPDATE: Orane Cummings, 22 of Riviera Beach has been identified as the fifth victim of the  fatal Riviera Beach car accident by Florida Higway Patrol Official Tim Frith.

Florida Highway Patrol officers said five people are dead after an early morning traffic accident.

It happened at 12:25 a.m. as two cars were headed east on Blue Heron Boulevard. 

FHP said a person driving a Mercedes coming off I-95 north heading eastbound hit a Lexus that was also heading eastbound.

Investigators said after impact both cars crossed the median and the Lexus started to roll, ejecting four people from the car.

Troopers said there were five people inside of the Lexus and all of them died.

The driver of the Mercedes, the only person inside of that car, was taken to the hospital, according to officials.

Florida Highway Patrol identified those involved in the crash.

The driver of the 2008 Mercedes CLK 350 is 21-year-old Jabari S. Kemp. He is in serious condition at St. Mary's Medical Center.

The driver of the 1994 Lexus was identified as 21-year-old Jason A. Mahlung of Riviera Beach. Mahlung was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center where he later died.

The other occupants of the Lexus - 17-year-old Shonteria T. Grimsley, 14-year-old Makita Campbell and 17-year-old Christina Oliver Joseph - were not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene as a result of their injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle involved, a 2009 Toyota Camry, was identified as 24-year-old Joevin Casimir, according to FHP. Casimir was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, FHP said. .

All lanes on Blue Heron Boulevard are back open.
