WELLINGTON, FL -- The small memorial on Green Tree Trail continues to grow.

"It means a lot to the family, to see this many people out here, the support is just amazing," said Paul Kornya, the victim's cousin.

Dozens of friends and family continue to gather at the site of the accident to remember Matthew Kornya. Paul Kornya spoke on behalf of the family, expressing their grief.

"If anyone has lost a child, they know how this feels, the pain we are going through, its unimaginable," said Kornya.

Kornya says Matthew was a good kid, an honor student at Wellington High School, who loved to fish and hang out with friends.

That is exactly what Kornya says he was doing early Saturday, when police say the 15 year old lost control of his father's car, killing himself and injuring a passenger.

"All of us have lost a great  friend, a cousin, a brother, and of course a son, parents should never have to bury their children."

Matthew's friends say they have learned a valuable lesson from this tragedy, but wished Matthew could have learned it sooner. The teen's family says they can't stress it enough.

"Please wear your seatbelts, just drive carefully, there is no need to rush for anything," said Kornya.

The funeral will be held Thursday at Palms West Funeral Home.

The family is asking everyone to wear something red, they said that was Matthew's favorite color.
