Maxell's response is ridiculous. I can believe that someone would forget an item in their bag, but, please, to say someone out of the blue gave it to me and I'm not a gun man.... enjoy your campus "Starbucks" and don't worry about John 2:16!

anyone that knows Maxwell and reads his books would know he is not a terrorist and seeking to do anyone harm on a plane, but that is not the point I tried to make. You just DON'T EVER bring a gun to an airport without checking it in period. Everyone on earth knows this I would imagine. Plus, if they found it on a regular Joe it would have made the same news, as this type of news needs to get out for all those that are still in the dark like Maxwell and his "friend" I still have a lot of questions like why a gun as a gift to a non-experienced person???

Let's take our hats off to the media everyone!!! If only they were this diligent when they were covering Hussien Obama. Now they're trying to discredit an honarable man...do you really think he seriously conspired to sneak a hand gun on plane?? So tell me again how this is newsworthy??? Maybe liberal media should turn their focus to Washington and write about how this so called president they helped elect is taking our great nation down the drain!!!

John was my boss for 7 year. A great guy to work with and for. I give him full benefit of the doubt. If he were used to carrying guns he would have known the ropes and not made such a blunder.

John Maxwell was my boss for almost 7 years and was a terrific man to work for and with. I can easily believe he made an honest mistake. Someone who is very unused to carrying a gun would very likely not think about getting checked by TSA. John I believe in you. Larry White

Here it is for you Pastor, and I say this with the deepest of respect and tenderness... You have to have it totally unloaded, and the ammo in a safe locked location, if you had brought the gun up to the counter, you could have it checked. You don't have to board the aircraft with the weapon! I for one forgive you, it must be interesting not to know much about owning and having guns. To the American public, Let us not persecute a man that does his best in the eyes of many to do what God requires of him. Besides, who are we as individuals to judge? Tell me that you haven't done something as dumb as this?? People are uneducated and unaware of the rules.. Ignorant of it if you will... Some are oblivious, we must have the grace to see that.. Can we? Simple fact is: It is a right to bear arms. A privilege that many died for, and defend still to this very day. We should as a nation and as a race of human beings come together for the good of all. Share, be aware, be responsible, and accountable. Principals that each of us need to thrive in this life.

I have had the privilege of hearing and meeting Dr. Maxwell on several occasions at Christ Fellowship Church. There is nothing criminal, dishonest, or otherwise underhanded about this man. To believe otherwise is ludicrous. It is my hope and prayer that the judicial system will recognize this for what it is; a mistake, and then afford him the leniency he deserves. If he's guilty of anything, it is simply that he is busy doing God's work and he wound up with a lapse in thought regarding a perhaps not so well thought out gift by a well intentioned friend. Fear not Pastor, our Lord Jesus has you wrapped in His loving hands, thousands of us are lifting you in prayer, and this will pass.

John Maxwell is a truly honest and godly man I believe this was a pure accident and that he meant no harm to anyone. I believe someone gave it to him and he forgot it was there heis a very intelligent and sucessful and motivating person and would not be stupid enough to diliberately try to go through tsa with a gun that is just rhidiculous and anyone who does recognize this as an oversight and would not intenionally do something illegal
