WEST PALM BEACH, FL. -- Melita Zilea will begin her jail sentence on January 4th, 2010.

Zilea worked as an examiner at the Delray Beach Driver's License office.

An ongoing investigation by the Palm beach County State Attorney's Office and the Florida Highway Patrol led to the arrest of Zilea and others.

The arrested examiners were being paid to issue driver's licenses to people who would otherwise not be able to obtain them.

Zilea agreed to a guilty plea in exchange for a reduced sentence.

Zilea will also testify against the other sixteen defendants who participated in the alleged scheme.

She will serve three years in jail and two years probation.

Without the plea agreement she faced thirty years in prison.
