OXFORD, FL--A two-year old Florida girl was killed Wednesday night when a snake owned by a man at the house broke out of its aquarium and strangled her to death.

The owner of the snake, 32-year old Charles Jason Darnell, found the child dead in her crib and called 9-1-1, but it was too late.

Caller: "Our snake, we have a Burmese Python, she's about 12-foot long. She got out of the case, got into the baby's crib and strangled her to death."

Darnell did not have a permit to own the snake.

He could be charged with a second-degree misdemeanor.

He has not yet been charged.

Officials in Oxford, Florida, about 50 miles northwest of Orlando, say they also found a boa constrictor in the home as well.
