(NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Burn and shock hazards have prompted Wal-Mart to recall 1.2 million water kettles.
The recall involves Rival brand electric water kettles sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores and on Walmart.com.
The heating element can fail and rupture, posing burn and shock hazards.
Wal-Mart has received 80 reports of incidents, including seven reports of burns.
Consumers should stop using the kettles and can return them to any Wal-Mart store for a full refund.
This recall involves model numbers wk8283cu and wk8283cuy.
The product was sold from March 2011 through October 2015.
