(NBC NEWSCHANNEL) A potential faulty stand prompted Vizio to recall its 39-and-42 inch E-series flat screen televisions.
The company says the stand assembly can fail and cause the television to tip over unexpectedly.
Vizio has received 51 reports of the recalled televisions tipping over.
The recall impacts about one-quarter million televisions sold at Best Buy, Target, Walmart and other retail stores nationwide.
Consumers can also go to www.vizio.com and click on "safety notice" for more information.
Affected models are the E390-B0, E390i-B0 and E420i.
