POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - A Consumer Watchdog investigation gets action from Florida's Attorney General.

A civil lawsuit was filed against Ryder Moving and Storage, of Pompano Beach. Customers called the Consumer Watchdog when the movers picked up their items, but never delivered them at their new home out of state. The Attorney General says there are over 100 victims, and wants restitution for victims and penalties for alleged violations of consumer law.

Several issues were raised by the Attorney General including delivery and refund issues.

The owners of the company were also named in the suit.

The Department of Transportation also took action after the Watchdog investigation ,fining the company $50,260 for safety and commercial regulation violations in December. The company also lost its authority to move customers out of state.

The Pompano movers are NOT related to the global transportation company, Ryder Systems, and is being sued for using that name. It's also an issue brought up by the Attorney General.

The company refused to answer our questions, but when we caught up with company employees they were helping a victim retrieve their items from a storage facility. They told us that some items were delivered, and everyone's items were not in storage.
