There are plenty of ways to entertain adults at a Super Bowl party, from tasty foods to betting on the game. But how do you entertain the kids?

Most of the younger ones won’t understand or care about the game. Here are some ideas for keeping them entertained while you root your team to victory.

Hire a babysitter for the day (and pay well)
You’ll want the babysitter to watch not only your kids, but your friend’s kids, too. Ask your friends to chip in on the cost. You will want them to feed your kids, so make sure you have plenty of kid friendly snacks.

Set up a face-painting table
Paint each kid’s face with their favorite team. If they don’t know which to choose, do generic footballs or pom-poms. They will sit still and in line for the process. Have an older youth or the babysitter do the painting — so you don’t miss any of the action.

Make it a game day
There are a lot of football inspired games. Commercial bingo is always a hit. Download your version here.

Set up a craft table
Make pom-poms, footballs and helmets. Pinterest has loads of ideas for football inspired crafts and what a great favor to take home.

Let them decorate treats
Make football shaped cookies ahead of time and have icing, sprinkles and football shaped candies for them to use as decorations.

When making the food, remember the kids
Set up a place for them to make nachos or put toppings on a pizza. Have a popcorn bar where they can add fun candy to their popcorn.

Buy team-themed water bottles
Help the kids in attendance cheer on their favorite team. Have them take a swig every time their team scores, or when they catch someone on the sidelines take a drink too. Make a game out of them watching the game!

Set up a video gaming area
If you have an extra room and an extra TV, set-up a separate area for the kids. Set a timer so all kids get a chance. In the same room have board games, coloring books and other toys for the kids who aren’t playing video games to enjoy.

Set up your own Super Bowl
If you are lucky enough to live in a warm area during February, set up a miniature football field outside. Have two different colored flags and let the kids play touch football in the backyard.

If none of these sound appealing to your kid, call a sitter (or a relative who isn’t watching the game) and leave them at home. Hopefully these ideas will keep your child entertained while your team is winning.

Go team!
