5 fun things to do this weekend in the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast (May 12 - May 14)

The bulk of our #5funThings to do are outdoor events for Mother's Day weekend including; Delray Beach Craft Beer Fest, The Brewhouse Gallery Block Party, and Morikami's Sushi and Stroll Summer Walk Series. Here's how our weather is going to shape up.

1) Delray Beach Craft Beer Fest

What is it?
Unlimited sampling of more than 100 craft brews, ciders, and wine. Plus pizza samplings, DJ and live music.

Why is it cool?

  • They only are selling 500 tickets so everyone will get to enjoy plenty of beer
  • Everyone gets a commemorative tasting mug
  • VIP tickets get you into the event at 6:30 (an hour before everyone else)

2) The Sound of Music - West Palm Beach

What is it?
A musical version of "The Sound of Music" (remember the classic Disney movie starring Mary Poppins actor Julie Andrews?)

Why is it cool?
The score has won a Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award and features songs like "My Favorite Things," "The Hills are Alive," and more.

3) The Brewhouse Gallery Block Party - Lake Park

What is it?
3 Stages, 16 bands, food, craft beer, mural project reveal and more.

Why is it cool?
Special craft beer releases made specifically for this event.

4) Morikami's Sushi & Stroll Summer Walk Series

What is it?
Morikami’s popular Sushi & Stroll series is back and better than ever, with a new picnicking area featuring local food trucks and popular Japanese snacks!

Why is it cool?
You can take a tranquil, twilight stroll through the 16-acre gardens with memorable sunset views with exhilarating taiko drumming performances by Fushu Daiko.

5) Master Gardener Spring into Gardening Plant Sale and Festival - Fort Pierce

What is it?
A festival filled with horticulture merchants, plant fashion shows, garden tours, and tropic tastings.

SOCIAL IMPACT BONUS EVENT) Cycle for Survival - Palm Beach Gardens

What is it?
A spin class to support Ilysa Winick, a wife, and mother who is fighting for her life as a quadruple amputee. Ilysa Winick is the devoted mother of two young children and is the founder of a preschool near her home. She contracted a near-fatal blood infection in June 2016. The rare diagnosis caused her body to go into septic shock, and medical professionals were forced to amputate to save her life. She is now adjusting to life with amputations below both of her knees and elbows. Ilysa was also diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease, requiring her to receive dialysis treatments until she can get a lifesaving kidney transplant.
