Let's Write Together: Short story writing contest for Palm Beach County students

Looking for something educational for your kids to do this summer? How about getting them published in a book of short stories?

Lynn University professor and author Robert Watson and his son, author Alex Watson, are running a short story contest for Palm Beach County students.

There are two grade divisions: Third-fifth and sixth-eighth grade. Students are free to write the short story by themselves or together with a friend or family member, so it can be a fun family project too.

Participants can choose from three categories of short stories: Action/adventure, thriller/sci-fi, and drama/mystery/comedy.

The contest runs through Aug. 20, and winning stories in each category will be professionally published in a book of short stories.

Rules and guidelines for the contest are available on the contest website, letswritetogether.com  (mobile link:  http://bit.ly/13ltIER ) .

All stories must be submitted electronically.
