No heat

If your heater isn't working properly, there are a few things you can check before calling a plumber. If you have radiators, check the air valve. If the air valve is clogged or worn out, the steam is unable to enter the radiator on the side. The air valve must be upright and the opening clear. If you have a furnace, make sure the thermostat is set correctly and working properly. If your furnace has an automatic timer, check to see if this is set correctly, as well. If the furnace is electrical, make sure it's receiving power and check the circuit box for any problems there. On gas furnaces, check the pilot light and thermostat. There are instructions on the side of the unit on how to re-light the pilot. If you cannot find the problem, you may need to contact a plumber to come to your home and check the unit for repairs or possible replacement.
