Crime in Belle Glade

In July 2006 the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office took over law enforcement responsibilities for the city of Belle Glade. Using data from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement the Contact 5 Investigators calculated the number of crimes in Belle Glade from 2000-2005, when the City of Belle Glade had its own Police Department, and from 2007-2011, when PBSO was in charge of law enforcement responsibilities.

Data from 2006 was not included in the charts below because that is the year the shift of responsibility for law enforcement activities took place.

*According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement the “Belle Glade Police Department experienced computer problems with their 2001 Annual Report causing an under reporting of offenses for 2001.”
