WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Heavy rain combined with high tide left some neighborhoods under water. In the El Cid neighborhood one stretch of Washington Road was under water. Cars taking took turns driving down the middle of the street when possible.

It’s a toss-up on what’s worse, driving or walking in this weather. Palm beach Atlantic University sophomore Andrew Carilli said walking.

“I had to park in here,” Carilli explained pointing to a church parking lot. “And walk all the way down street on to campus in the pouring rain. I gotta drive here, so I gotta park over here to walk over there.”

Carilli said skipping class because of rain is not an option, “you can't. I mean you gotta go to class still. It sucks but you gotta do it. You're paying for classes. My jacket is all wet. I sit in a wet jacket every class.”

He did have time to sit in his car and try to dry off.

“I gotta go back in an hour and walk through this again,” Carilli said laughing. “It's terrible.”
