Shain Gandee dead: BUCKWILD cast member, uncle found dead after missing in Sissonville West Virginia

Shain Gandee, one of the stars of the MTV reality show "Buckwild," has been found dead along with two other people in Kanawha County, West Virginia, authorities said Monday.

"This is a very sad and tragic event," Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper said. "We live in a very small community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gandee family. The full details will be released later by the Kanawha County Sheriff Department."

Gandee was one of the nine cast members of "Buckwild." The show follows a group of young adults trying to have fun in Sissonville, West Virginia, pulling stunts like turning a dump truck into a swimming pool or just riding around the woods on their all-terrain vehicles. Gandee was billed as a former high school prom king who had done "every job from coal mining to being a garbage man."

Family members and emergency personnel at the scene told WCHS Gandee was found in a vehicle dead along with his uncle, David. The two men had been reported missing for about 31 hours. The name of the other person who was found in the vehicle was unavailable, WCHS reports.

According to the WCHS report , a person on a four-wheeler discovered three unresponsive people in a vehicle Monday morning.

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. -- A cast member of the MTV reality series "BUCKWILD" and his uncle have been reported missing in West Virginia.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said 21-year-old Shain Gandee and his uncle, 48-year-old David Gandee, were last seen around 3 a.m. Sunday at a bar in Sissonville.

Family members said the men planned on riding their all-terrain vehicles, but did not say where. They reported the men missing after they couldn't get in contact with them Sunday.

Foul play isn't suspected, but anyone with information on the pair's whereabouts was asked to contact authorities.

Shain Gandee is the third cast member to make headlines. Salwa Amin was in custody Monday after violating terms of her release on pending drug charges. Michael Douglas Burford was charged in February with driving under the influence.
