Ke$ha song pulled, hit "Die Young" dropped from radio playlists after Sandy Hook shooting tragedy

Pop singer Ke$ha's hit song "Die Young" was pulled from many radio stations following the recent Newtown, Conn. school massacre where 20 children and 7 adults died.

According to TMZ , Ke$ha tweeted that she was reluctant to sing the lyric "Die Young" in the first place, "I had my very own issues with 'Die Young' for this reason. I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO."

The tweet was later removed from the singer's page and the following message took its place.
"I'm so so so sorry for anyone who has been affected by this tragedy and I understand why my song is now inappropriate," Ke$ha tweeted. "Words cannot express."

The song is a typical party song where Ke$ha sings, "Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young."

Mediabase, the company that tracks the radio airplay of songs, reported that the song lost 19 million listeners by Monday when stations began to pull the record from their playlists, according to TMZ.
